James Verderamo: A Must-Hire Actor for Theatre, TV and Film

James Verderamo is a dynamic leading actor and bari-tenor whose commanding presence, vocal power, and remarkable versatility make him equally compelling in sweeping drama, sophisticated musical theatre, and bold character comedy. He currently stars as Jerry Singfeld in the Off-Broadway production of Singfeld! at The Theater Center in New York City and will next take on the formidable title role in Sweeney Todd at the Milton Theatre.

James has built an impressive body of leading and featured work, including Robert Kincaid in The Bridges of Madison County, Leo Frank in Parade, Tommy DeVito in Jersey Boys, Gerry Goffin in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Seymour Krelborn in Little Shop of Horrors, the Baker and Cinderella’s Prince/Wolf in separate productions of Into the Woods, Father in Children of Eden, and Officer Lockstock in Urinetown. His screen experience includes a supporting role in The Conspiracists.

Trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, James brings a strong foundation in film and television acting, Method technique, and movement. His extensive vocal training spans classical, Broadway, jazz, and pop, with an exceptional range from G1 to A5. He is also trained in tap, musical theatre, partner dance, stage combat, stunts, and lifts.

Beyond his artistic accomplishments, James brings extraordinary real-world experience to every production. A highly decorated U.S. Air Force veteran with ten years of active-duty service, he possesses authentic military operational experience, advanced firearms training, and fluency in Korean. He also holds degrees in Korean language, intelligence studies and technology, and software development.
